- Business Services- Critical Conversations Series
- During the 2023-2024 Academic Year, Business Services will engage in a 3-part series that will focus on engaging in difficult conversations in the workplace. The purpose of this series is to give participants the tools to listen deeply to each other and oneself and to find ways to engage in difficult conversations as they arise in the workplace. Given the diversity of voice and perspective in the Business Services unit, sessions will be offered in small groups and will be tailored to workplace experiences of staff across positions and experiences on campus. Session 1 will focus on the art of listening.
- Mind the Gap: Generational Differences and DEI
- This professional development session is designed to help participants consider the diversity of perspective offered by the generations represented in the current workforce. Additionally, the purpose of this session is threefold: 1) to allow participants to consider how bias is sometimes expressed through generational tensions; 2.) to confront bias through reflexive practices; 3) to find constructive ways to respectfully voice these tensions to build a more welcoming campus community.
