Fall 2023 Difficult Conversations Series
Building from the series in Spring 2023, this three-part series will be offered in collaboration with the Center for Intercultural Leadership and Communication (CILC). The purpose of this professional development series is to give participants the tools to be better allies during difficult contexts and conversations. These sessions are open to both faculty and staff and have limited space.
Say My Name
Each semester, the Office of Inclusive Excellence will hold a "Say My Name" Program that is in collaboration with the Office of Global Programs. The goal of this program is to increase a sense of belonging among students, faculty, and staff by giving participants the tools and a relatively safe space to learn how to pronounce someone's name correctly. Additionally, the Offices of Global Programs and Inclusive Excellence encourage all campus community members to include a link in their email signatures to a service like "NameDrop."If any member of the campus community needs assistance setting this up, please consider attending the "Say My Name" Program at the beginning of each semester, or contact the Office of Inclusive Excellence for assistance.
