- Only undergraduate students can apply for a Change of Campus (COC). MED, GRAD, LAW, Non-credit, and Non-degree high school students will receive a message indicating the online application is not available for their use.
- Students can request either a Permanent Change of Campus or a Temporary Change of Campus (one semester only). Certain restrictions apply depending on requested campus.
- No student will receive an immediate denial message. The two initial responses for a COC request are either an approved automatic COC or notification that the COC request will be reviewed in a two-part process.
- Temporary COC requests always require a two-part review.
- All COC requests during the add/drop period will receive a two-part review.
- If a student has a pending Change of Major (COM) request in Update Academics, they cannot submit a COC request. They need to wait until they receive a response prior to submitting a COC request. If a student has a pending COC request, they cannot submit a COM request in Update Academics until they receive a decision on their pending COC request.
- In order to receive an approved automatic COC, students must be in a major, have between 44.1 -74 completed credits at the beginning of the term, and request a permanent change of campus to a campus where their major can be completed.
- Credits considered are cumulative total credits (transfer and PSU).
- Anyone requesting a COC that falls outside of the 44.1 - 74 credits automatic approval window will receive a COC two-part review notification.
- Any two-part review requires approval from both the sending campus and the receiving campus in order to receive an approved COC response. If either campus denies the COC, the request is denied.
- The approval or denial of the request results in an immediate email notification to the student informing them of the final decision. The student does NOT receive an email if Reviewer1 approves the COC request and sends it to Reviewer2. Email notification is ONLY sent when the final COC decision has been made.
- A complete list of Change of Campus contacts can be found on the Penn State University Registrar site.
