Module Overview
Module 1: DEI Foundations: A Look Within
This introductory module will give participants a baseline of common terms, current trends and the role diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging plays in their lives personally.
Module 2: Building an Anti-Racist Workplace
According to Glassdoor's 2019 Diversity and Inclusion Study, 42% of employees in the U.S. have experienced or witnessed racism in the workplace. This session will help participants build the capacity to discuss racism by exploring anti-racism tools to address systemic change to combat racial injustice and inequality.
Module 3: Beyond Race: Understanding the ISMs
This module will help participants develop a basic understanding and critical consciousness about the many types of oppression known as -isms and -phobias.
Module 4: Culturally Competent Communication and Customer Service
By developing one's own cultural competence, productivity and efficiency may increase and in turn improve one's customer service skills. Communicating in a culturally competent way means finding a way to communicate effectively that also respects and accepts cultural differences.
Module 5: Allyship and Creating an Inclusive Workplace
Understanding your role as an ally means having a responsibility to use your knowledge, skills and position of privilege to drive tangible change. Employees feel more valued and engaged in an inclusive workplace. Higher engagement leads can boost productivity, increase profitability and reduce staff turnover.
