Each year, Penn State recognizes outstanding faculty and staff with annual awards in teaching and excellence. These awards highlight many of the faculty and staff who go above and beyond.
Penn State has been recognized as the top U.S. producer of faculty Fulbright Scholars for 2019-20 by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. In addition, the University is listed as a top producer of student Fulbright recipients.
Thomas Heise, assistant professor of English at Penn State Abington and an award-winning novelist and poet, worked on his next novel while serving as a visiting artist at the American Academy in Rome.
Nichola D. Gutgold, professor of communication arts and sciences at Penn State Lehigh Valley, co-wrote a book with Abigail S. Kennedy, lecturer in English at Penn State Abington, titled “Madam President: Women Who Paved the Way.”
Liliana Naydan, assistant professor of English at Penn State Abington, is one of six faculty members University-wide to be honored with the 2019 George W. Atherton Award for Excellence in Teaching.
