Members of the Penn State Abington men's and women's track and field teams smashed program and personal-best records at a two day tournament.

The national College Sports Communicators organization awarded Greg Pellegrino, the sports information director at Penn State Abington, its annual Bob Kenworthy Community Service Award for civic involvement, community service and accomplishments both within and outside the profession. 

Taylor LaPage, president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and a multi-sport player at Penn State Abington, attended the NCAA national convention in Phoenix last month with Erin Foley, the director of Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation.

The Penn State Abington Student Athlete Advisory Committee raised money to purchase and wrap more than 150 gifts and other items for a family from Jamaica whose son is being treated for cancer at an area hospital.  

Erin Foley, the director of athletics, intramurals and recreation at Penn State Abington, announced the appointment of Justin Dunbar-Stevens as the program's next men's head basketball coach.

Penn State Abington student athletes will face competitors from a total of 17 member institutions headquartered in Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia beginning with the fall 2023 season. 

Growing up two miles down the road from Penn State Abington, Joe DiMaria realized that the college’s NCAA Division III student-athlete experience was the perfect fit for his passions: baseball, teaching and his hometown.

Ryan McCarty, whose fairytale season led to national media attention, is the first Penn State Abington player to join a professional baseball team. 

Penn State Abington's Ryan McCarty was named a semifinalist in the national competition for the top amateur baseball player of the year. He is the only non-NCAA Division I player and only Penn State player to be considered, and he could become the first winner from a non-Division I program since Bryce Harper of the Philadelphia Phillies won the award in 2010.

Penn State Abington baseball player Ryan McCarty led the NCAA Division III this season in hits (100), batting average (.529), home runs (29), doubles (27), RBIs (91) and runs (89), and he set a new Division III single-season record for total bases (220) through 40 regular-season games and four more in the United East Conference Tournament.
