Lixian Yan has been named the fall 2022 student marshal for the Penn State College of Engineering. She will receive her bachelor of science degree with a double major in electrical engineering from the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science within the College of Engineering and in physics (electronics option) from the Eberly College of Science. Yan attended Penn State Abington before transitioning to the University Park campus.
Penn State students, faculty and staff with older versions of the id+ card are being asked to submit new photos ahead of re-carding events that will be held University-wide during the spring 2023 semester. There are multiple ways to submit a photo, and photos will be accepted from Nov. 7 through Nov. 23.
New University President Neeli Bendapudi met with Penn State Abington students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders this week. Meeting Bendapudi was emotional for some faculty and staff at Abington, the most diverse campus in the Penn State system, since the new president is the first woman and first person of color to lead the University.
Fourteen Penn State alumni will receive the Alumni Fellow Award, the most prestigious award given by the Penn State Alumni Association, during a ceremony Sept. 28 at the State Theatre in downtown State College. This year’s award ceremony will be livestreamed for remote viewing.

Penn State University Health Services (UHS) is encouraging students to protect themselves against monkeypox in light of cases in Pennsylvania and nationally. Monkeypox is a viral infection primarily spread through prolonged close contact. It is not a sexually transmitted infection (STI), and anybody can be at risk, regardless of gender or sexual orientation.

He will receive his bachelor of science in computer science with a minor in mathematics at the University’s commencement ceremony, which will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 13 in the Bryce Jordan Center at University Park.
The results of a confidential university-wide survey show that the majority of Penn State employee and student participants feel safe on campus and view Penn State police officers favorably.
