Biography
Julia Clift is an artist and educator based in the Philadelphia area. Her paintings and drawings have been exhibited in numerous locations, including Massey Klein Gallery, Pentimenti Gallery, Gross McCleaf Gallery, University City Arts League, Fleisher Art Memorial, and Arnot Art Museum, and are held in the permanent collection of Wythe Hotel (Brooklyn, NY). A passionate teacher, Clift has taught painting and drawing at Tyler School of Art and Architecture at Temple University, Maryland Institute College of Art, The Pennsylvania State University, and West Chester University. Additionally, at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, Clift co-created and continues to teach the Visualizing Anatomy program, which helps first-year medical students understand anatomy on a deeper level through visual art exercises. Her writing has been featured in Hyperallergic, Bomb, Title Magazine, HuffPost, and Extraction: Art on the Edge of the Abyss.
